Norton setup, made simple..
A clear path from your Norton product key to your first installation. Follow the right steps for a new purchase or an existing subscription.

Before you begin.
- Your purchase email or retail card, if you have a new product key.
- Access to the email address used for your Norton account.
- The device you want to protect and a working internet connection.
Let’s get you set up.
Start with your purchase
For a new retail key, visit norton.com/setup. If your subscription is already in your account, go straight to the download guide.
Add your key and sign in
Enter the product key on Norton’s setup page, then your email address. Sign in when prompted, or create an account if you do not have one.
Review your subscription
Read any payment and automatic-renewal prompts carefully. Norton may request payment details to enrol in renewal. Check the terms shown before activating.
Download, install and check
Read the licence agreement and choose Agree and Download. Run the installer and follow its prompts. Open the app afterwards to check its protection and subscription status.
A little more clarity.
Where do I find my Norton product key?
A Norton product key contains 25 letters and numbers in five groups. Look in your order confirmation, on the retail card or inside the box. A service-provider purchase may have its own retrieval process. In an existing account, check My Subscriptions. Keep the full key private.
Already activated Norton?
Reinstalling is different from redeeming a new purchase. Begin with the account that holds your subscription, check the product and available devices, then download. Creating another account can make an existing purchase harder to find.
Choose the right regional offer
Product features, device limits, prices and renewal terms can differ between the UK, Germany, US, Canada, Australia and other markets. Use the details attached to your purchase. Changing this guide’s language does not change your subscription country.

Practical answers for the next step.
01Do I need a product key every time I install Norton?+
Not usually when an active subscription is already linked to your account. Sign in and use the download available for that subscription.
02Does Norton login install protection on my device?+
Signing in gives you access to your account. You still need to install the appropriate app and check its status.
03What if my product key is rejected?+
Check the characters, purchased product and the message displayed. Keep your purchase receipt ready and follow the official help linked below. Do not buy another key before checking the existing purchase.
